A Walk in the Park

Ok, I said I was going to walk without taking a camera. I forgot about my Blackberry camera, so I did take a few shots and a video or two. Hard for me to resist the urge. At least it’s an urge that won’t pack on the pounds. I walked two and a half miles today.

It was a perfect day, few clouds, low humidity, bright sun and about 75 degrees F. The park was full of people. There were the usual performers, although I didn’t see Thoth in the Angel Tunnel, where he usually prayforms. From his website it seems he is in Portugal on tour. I did see a balloon folder I had not seen before and posted a Twitvid of him. And I eventually sat by the lake with a stunning view and just sat. Did nothing but empty my mind and enjoy the warmth and the light and the park.

For dinner I had some Dreamfields low carb pasta (about 400 calories worth) with a sauce made of roasted red peppers and roasted garlic, pureed. I used about 2 tablespoons of olive oil in the sauce. The total was about 650 calories.

For an afternoon snack I had a raw turnip. For my night snack I will have an apple. I am on target for the day, and surprisingly I feel full, no cravings.

  4. I am not a fan of COOKED turnip so that snack sounds…..what Robb said:)
    So can I ask about alcohol? Is that out or occasional?

  5. Excellent progress! Excercise and eating right go hand in hand! 16 pound loss is awesome! People might not think its much…but try carrying that around all day! Actually i like raw turnip…it has a unique flavour! I think if you continue the way you are….walking alot…watching what you eat and eating healthier….that there is no way you can fail! I enjoy reading what you had for dinner actually! Your description makes most things sound delicious! I stopped eating beef and pork on a regular basis back in 1998. I lost alot of weight before i found a healthy ballance. I still eat chicken and fish,but only bacon for pork once in a while and maybe like 6 times a year i eat beef. It works for me,so i have just kept going that way. First thing i gave up like 20yrs ago was salt. I dont add it too anything,and even my mom doesnt add any when coooking for me. Anyway enough about me! People can talk about loosing weight and do nothing….you are on your way to success! It wont be overnight…but down the road it will interesting to look back at these blogs and pictures to see your progression to were you want to be physically!
